November update

From the chair:

We’ve been quiet for a while as lots of things have been going on in the background (and I took some time out to go and watch the Red Roses win all their matches and lift the World Cup!)

Three major things have now happened:

  1. The church authorities have approved the Faculty and we have permission to perform the repairs to the church.
  2. We got positive feedback from the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) , and are now working with Ely Diocese on a final application for about £250,000 for the first phase of repairs.
  3. Heritage England have confirmed and published that All Saints is on the Heritage at Risk Register.  Whilst bad news, this means the situation is dire enough to merit NLHF interest and funding – so it is good news in the round

Our proposal for the NLHF funding is currently with Ely staff for their input, and they are meeting NLHF staff soon so I hope our project will get an informal airing (and feedback) before we fully apply.
